Article 12. Economic support for defense The Law on Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. The economic provision of defense consists in allocating financial, logistical and other resources to the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations, equipping them with weapons, military and special equipment in the amount necessary to ensure the defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The main tasks of economic support for defense:
1) meeting the needs of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations in financial, logistical and other resources;
2) improvement of the scientific, technical and production base for the production, repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment;
3) creation of effective systems of mobilization readiness of the economy and mobilization training of the population of the country;
4) increase the level of social security, implementation of guarantees established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan for military personnel, their family members and persons discharged from military service;
5) implementation of mutually beneficial international military and military-technical cooperation.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of organization of defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the functions and powers of state bodies in ensuring the country's defense capability, the rights and obligations of citizens and organizations in the field of defense.
