Article 70. Competence of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan The Law On the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan
1. Air defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the protection of the State border in the airspace:
1) monitor compliance with the procedure for crossing the State border;
2) use their available means to identify aircraft in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as outside territorial waters to the borders of foreign states, if there is a threat of illegal crossing or illegal crossing of the State Border.;
3) stop flights and take measures to land on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan aircraft that have illegally crossed the State Border and (or) violated the procedure for using the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
4) assist aircraft that have illegally crossed the State Border in the event of unintended actions by the crews of these vessels by restoring their orientation, taking them to an airport or airfield, landing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan or taking them outside the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan have the right to:
1) to involve, in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the forces and means of other authorized bodies to clarify the situation in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2) prohibit or restrict flights of aircraft in certain areas of the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan if there is a threat of illegal crossing or illegal crossing of the State Border in the airspace;
3) require the aircraft to provide information on the purpose of the flight into the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the reasons for the deviation from the flight plan;
4) to assist aircraft that have illegally crossed the State Border in the event of unintentional actions by the crews of these vessels by restoring their orientation, taking them to an airport or airfield, landing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan or taking them outside the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and suggesting that the aircraft change course if it leads to a prohibited or temporarily dangerous flight district;
5) take measures to prevent or stop illegal crossing of the State border, if necessary, require the aircraft crew to land at the specified location, including forcibly;
6) invite (after landing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan) crew members of aircraft that illegally crossed the State Border and (or) violated the procedure for using the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the units of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan to clarify the circumstances of the offense;
7) detain persons who have committed an offense and are subject to criminal or administrative liability in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, transfer these persons to the bodies of inquiry and investigation or the relevant authorities;
8) to use weapons and military equipment in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
9) exercise other powers provided for by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This Law regulates public relations in the field of protection of the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
