Article 21. Leadership of the Armed Forces in accordance with the Law "On Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan"
1. The military-political leadership of the Armed Forces is carried out by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The Headquarters of the Supreme High Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the highest body of the military and political leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan during wartime and during martial law, directs the military organization of the state, controls and coordinates the activities of the central and local executive bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the performance of defense tasks.
3. The Headquarters of the Supreme High Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall manage the Armed Forces through the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is its working body.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peacetime is a department of the Ministry of Defense.
4. The management of the Armed Forces in peacetime is carried out by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 7, 2005 No. 29.
This Law regulates public relations in the field of organization of defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the functions and powers of state bodies in ensuring the country's defense capability, the rights and obligations of citizens and organizations in the field of defense.
