Termination of marriage (matrimony) is the termination of legal relations between the spouses as a result of circumstances beyond their control (death, declaration of one of them as deceased or recognition as missing) or as a result of actions at the personal will of both of them and one of the spouses through the dissolution of marriage (matrimony) in accordance with the procedure established by this Code.

Termination of a marriage (matrimony) between spouses does not interrupt or terminate the legal relationship between parents and children born or adopted in this marriage (matrimony).
