Article 30. Equality of spouses in the family of the Marriage (Matrimony) and Family Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan

     1. Spouses enjoy equal rights and bear equal responsibilities.

     2. Each spouse is free to choose their occupation, profession, and religion.

     3. The issues of motherhood, fatherhood, upbringing, education of children, place of residence, stay of spouses and other issues of family life are resolved by the spouses jointly.

     4. Spouses are obliged to build their relationships in the family on the basis of mutual respect and mutual assistance, to promote the well-being and strengthening of the family, to take care of the health, development of their children and their well-being.
